Tanjung Manis Integrated Port Sdn Bhd
“With the completion of the project and initially functioned as an interim port, TMP is now capable of providing an alternative gateway for international trade for the Central Region”
It gives me great pleasure and pride to announce that 2017 was another successful year for us.
Since its inception eight years ago, Tanjung Manis Integrated Port Sdn Bhd (TMP) has not rested on its laurels nor allowed herself to be left behind in terms of development. A few years back in 2013, TMP has embarked on an upgrading work to its existing facilities involving extension of the berthing area by 100 meters making a total length of the berthing facilities to 303 meters and capable of berthing 3 vessels concurrently and an extended container yard with the holding capacity of 230,000 TEUs. With the completion of the project and initially functioned as an interim port, TMP is now capable of providing an alternative gateway for international trade for the Central Region.
It is also heartening to note that Liquid Bulk handled at the OGC jetty has registered a healthy growth since its operation in November 2011 to record a total tonnage of 555,923 metric tonnes for 2017 as compared to 544,190 metric tonnes in 2016. With Tanjung Manis Bulkers’ full operation and Tanjung Manis Bitumen Plant to start operation in Q2 of 2018, I envisage that the OGC Jetty would have a much better throughput for 2018.
With Evergreen Marine Corporation Malaysia Sdn Bhd ( Evergreen ) making its inroads services to TMP since the maiden call of “ MV Cape Fawley “ on 22 March 2016, TMP has been able to reposition herself as a Port of Choice for Integrated Services for the Central Region. TMP container trade has also registered a slight increase of 60,307 TEUs in 2017 as compared to 60,284 TEUs in 2016. For TMP to successfully achieve its vision, TMP will continue to attract and encourage new business development to serve the SCORE objectives through adequate facilities and reliable services with faster turnaround time.
I wish to take this opportunity to express my utmost appreciation to all TMP management and staff for their loyalty, hard work and dedication to excellence towards the continued growth and progress of TMP. My sincere appreciation also goes to our business associates, the State Government, Tanjung Manis Port Authority, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Transportation and the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development for their support and contribution. We look forward to their continuing partnership to steer TMP towards greater height of success in the near future.
Last but not least my special thanks to my colleagues on the Board for their invaluable support, guidance and advice for making another successful year.
